About the Artist
Marisa DeAngelo’s paintings express her high spirited exploration with a variety of traditional mediums. She works in oil, acrylic, gel medium, latex, gold leaf, resin, collage and beyond…whatever it takes to express fun images that are aesthetically pleasing to her and relatable to the viewer. Inspiration comes from her surroundings - beautiful moments from her home by the ocean…a bouquet of flowers…a visit to the city and most especially from her summers on Cape Cod.
Marisa enjoys juxtaposing ideas, processes and stylistic techniques from her favorite artists to create with art that makes people smile. Works are built up in layers to create visual depth. Hints of recognizable imagery can be found within the abstractions further engaging observers to play along with their own imaginations.
Marisa is a lifelong artist and spent most of her career as a fashion designer. She designed for Boston Bride, Ralph Lauren, and a host of private label dress companies in NYC. She is a graduate of Mass College of Art & Design with graduate studies abroad in Archeology and Fine Art.
